Defence and Security

Quiet electric vessels for base, harbour and domestic operations.

Templar boats are Canadian built, fully electric and run on swappable battery modules. No fuel to truck in, no engine to service, and almost no noise on the water. They suit the day to day work that keeps a base, a harbour or a response operation moving.

Where they fit

Harbour and base support

Crew and personnel transfer, line handling, mooring and jetty maintenance, and moving light stores between vessels and shore.

Waterfront security patrol

Low speed patrol of harbours, basins and restricted waterfront areas. Crews can hear and talk without shouting over an engine.

Diver and range support

A stable platform with open deck space for dive tenders, range safety, target and buoy work, and sensor deployment.

Training

Low running cost boat handling and small craft training, with no fuel handling and very little maintenance between courses.

Survey and monitoring

Hydrographic, environmental and sampling work with no exhaust or fuel on the water and no engine vibration at the sensor. The Templar 20 can carry a solar deck and a sensor mast for long stays on station.

Domestic operations and disaster response

Boats and Beacon modules double as portable power. Modules come off the boat and run shelters, comms and pumps when the grid is down. See disaster recovery.

Why electric makes sense for defence

Fuel out of the supply chain

Beacon modules charge from shore power, a generator or solar. Spares are about 30 lb each and can be carried by hand, so a boat that works all day never waits on a charger or a fuel delivery.

Quiet on the water

No engine noise, no exhaust and no smoke. Better for crews, better alongside other vessels, and a far smaller noise presence than an outboard.

High availability, low maintenance

No oil changes, no winterizing and no engine servicing. Swap a module and keep working. BeaconOS telemetry shows state of charge, position and battery health for every hull.
