Applications

Power in minutes. Anywhere the grid is down.

When a hurricane takes out the grid, the first 72 hours decide everything. Beacon modules arrive as hand-carried batteries, set up without tools, and put clean power into a clinic, a shelter, a comms post, or a water pump before a generator has been refuelled twice.

Why a swappable module is the right shape for a disaster

Carry it

Each module is about 30 lb. One person carries one. A pickup carries a hospital’s worth. No crane, no forklift, no trailer needed to get power to where the road ends.

Set it up in minutes

Modules connect in parallel for capacity or series for voltage, and feed standard off-the-shelf inverters. No custom electronics on site. A couple of modules and an inverter is a field station; add modules and it grows.

Charge it however you can

Modules charge from a conventional generator, from solar, or from a Beacon Station when grid power returns. Charge in one place, carry to another. Depleted modules cycle back while charged ones keep the lights on.

What one pallet does

2 modules + 2 kW inverter Two modules. Lighting, phones, radios, a medical fridge for a day.
4 modules + 3 kW inverter Four modules. A clinic or command post overnight.
8 modules + 5 kW inverter Eight modules. A shelter, a water pump, or a small desalination unit.
16 modules + two 5 kW inverters Sixteen modules. A neighbourhood hub with charging for phones and e-bikes.

Quieter, cleaner, and it does not run out of fuel

Generators need fuel that has to be trucked in, stored, and rationed. They are loud enough to make a shelter miserable and they fail when they are needed most. Beacon modules make no noise, no fumes, and no fuel logistics. Run the generator a few hours a day to charge modules, then switch it off. Add solar and the generator runs less each day.

BeaconOS in the field

Every module reports charge, temperature, and health over Bluetooth to a phone, so a coordinator knows which modules are ready, which are out, and which need attention. With cellular or satellite backhaul the whole deployment is visible remotely. Faulty modules isolate themselves and the rest keep running.

Built for the Caribbean

Modules are sealed against weather and rated for heat and salt air. Pre-positioned modules sit charged for months. After the event they go back into daily service on boats, carts, and vehicles, so the resilience stock is not dead capital between storms.
